Early days
Jitesh had an inclination towards music since his childhood days. He learnt and played the keyboard at school and won a few awards. Later on in life when looking for a profession he set his eyes on being a DJ, as he thought, this would bring out his creative best, mixing two or more sounds to create a completely new tune and still retain the magic of music.
Having started off as DJ trainee in 1997, he's aimed to reach the pinnacle of success by continuously striving hard to accomplish tasks at hand and endeavors to the best of his skills and knowledge along with continuous innovative efforts to create new sounds. To give a concrete shape to his aspirations, he looks forward to the continuous support and encouragement from his patrons and well wishers in addition to his relentless hard work and sincere efforts.
In his journey over the last decade, Jitesh has won many admirers and has been able to tide over the initial criticism of his experiments by purists, to come out on tops. His “Experiments”, now form a regular part of any DJ’s Repertoire and are making people dance till they drop in clubs across the Globe. His Music has been found being played by the best DJs in the continents of Australia, Asia and Europe.
En route to success
DJ Jitesh, has recently entered into a contract with Times Music – A Bennett & Coleman subsidiary (One of the best Music labels in India and the label which has been credited with promoting the best DJ’s across India, such as; DJ Suketu, DJ Nasha & DJ RyanBeck to name a few) to produce an album of remixes of Bollywood songs which is due soon.
Jitesh was also invited by Headlines Today (a leading National News channel in India), as a guest on a show called “Hot and Happening careers of 2007”, to encourage people to take the less traveled road and enthuse new blood into this profession.
Recently he was crowned "India's Most Wanted DJ" after winning the National DJ Championship at the Grand Finale of TIMES MUSIC War of the DJs 2007 at the Yash Raj studios, Mumbai, INDIA.
Jitesh has also been the guest of honor and judged a few DJ competitions at Premier educational Institutes in India, such as IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Roorkee.
More about the war of the Djs
The biggest event in India's DJ industry, the Times War of the DJs was held over six cities throughout India during February 2007. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkatta, Bangalore, Pune and Hyderabad hosted the qualifying rounds, with the finals held in Mumbai. The event was jointly sponsored by TIMES MUSIC Rivera International and Pioneer Pro DJ, Japan.
In each of the regional rounds six best local DJs were chosen, and then held a final round next day in the same city to select the best DJ from that city.
The finals saw 7 Finalists from all over India, fighting their sweat out at the famous Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai and after a hard-fought grueling 4 hours, he was crowned the national DJ champion.
